Julie Probus-Schad is a Psychotherapist specializing in EMDR Therapy and other trauma-informed therapies. She maintains a private practice in Chesterfield, Missouri. With 30 years of experience as a Psychotherapist, and as a graduate of the School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis, Julie is currently serving as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of specialization are Attachment-Focused EMDR, PTSD and Trauma.

Julie serves as a Parnell Institute Attachment-Focused EMDR Trainer, Senior Approved Consultant, and Faculty. She has trained clinicians throughout the United States and around the world. She is co-director with Dr. Laurel Panrell of the sister nonprofit of the Parnell Institute, The Trauma Assistance Program-International, TAP-IN, Corp.  Julie was a keynote presenter and instructor at the 2017 first annual Parnell Institute Innovations in EMDR Conference at 1440 Multiversity in Scotts Valley, CA, 2018 at the Omega Institute, Rhinebeck, New York, 2019 in San Francisco, and  the 2021 and 22 Virtual conferences. Julie is a contributing author, Rewiring the Addicted Brain: An EMDR – Based Treatment Model For Overcoming Addictive Disorders (Parnell, 2018). She offers Attachment-Focused EMDR consultation for Certification and Consultation of Consultation. Parnell Institute .

Julie’s innovative approach to psychotherapy allows the client to develop the necessary skills and insights to optimize wellness. A foundational belief of her practice is that all people have the innate ability to heal. Through the utilization of trauma-informed therapies, with an emphasis on healing early relational attachment wounds, Julie specializes in treating PTSD and trauma. In addition to her private practice, Julie is passionate about trauma informed healing throughout the world. She has trained staff and worked with children in orphanages and children’s homes in South Africa, Peru, India and Nepal utilizing EMDR-related Tapping In® a resourcing technique founded by Dr. Laurel Parnell. She has worked closely with the Trauma Healing and Reconciliation Program in Monrovia, Liberia, focusing on reintegrating former Child Soldiers into the community. Julie is also trained as a facilitator for the Changing Children’s World Foundation, an attachment based parent education program. She has also donated numerous clinical hours to the Give an Hour Foundation, working with Military Families and Soldiers.

Education:
Julie graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor's of Social Work in 1986, she went on to complete her Masters of Social Work at the prestigious George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis in 1988 .
